Excessive engine oil consumption or visible oil ingress on the intake side are also warning signs not to be ignored, as is a noticeable lack of responsiveness when overtaking on the motorway — a common demand for this type of vehicle.

New turbo for the Hyundai i40: engine compatibility

This new turbo is compatible with reference 824168-5002S and fits the 1.7 CRDi diesel engines found in the Hyundai i40, with engine code D4FD. Before placing an order, it is essential to check the reference printed on the old turbo or on the vehicle's identification plate, as certain power variants may share similar but not identical components.

Warranty and delivery for this Hyundai i40 turbo

This new turbo is sold as a straightforward purchase with no unit to return — the turbo is delivered directly and there is only a single delivery. Engine oil quality and adherence to oil change intervals remain key factors in the longevity of the turbo on this D4FD engine. When starting up for the first time, pre-lubricating the turbo with oil before the initial start is advised to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings. Avoiding high revs immediately after a cold start, and allowing the engine to idle briefly before switching off after sustained use, will also help protect this new component.

This same turbo also fits

New Hyundai Tucson Turbo – Ref. 824168-5002S

New Kia Carens Turbo – Ref. 824168-5002S

New Kia Sportage Turbo – Ref. 824168-5002S

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_ea162d2c-fdf3-4f68-bc4e-6b191635750a.png?v=1790811288
