A gradual loss of power, blue or black exhaust smoke, an unusual whistling noise under acceleration, or an engine warning light accompanied by a boost pressure fault code are all signs to investigate before any dismantling. Checking the turbine shaft play, the condition of the electronic variable-geometry actuator, and the presence of oil deposits in the intake hoses will often confirm a diagnosis before you order the part.

About the new turbo for the Audi A5

This new turbo is compatible with reference 882300-5003S, intended for Audi A5 models powered by the 2.0 TDI 190, also known commercially as the 40 TDI. Before fitting, check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses, and the cleanliness of the air intake. Pre-lubricating the turbo with oil before the first start-up is recommended to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings.
