turbo-audi-a6-neuf-454231-5008s
New Audi A6 Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

Why does the Audi A6 1.9 TDI turbo so often suffer premature failure?

On the 1.9 TDI engines fitted to the Audi A6, the turbocharger is put under considerable strain by the oil pressure required to lubricate its central shaft. A delayed oil change, low-quality oil or a clogged oil filter is all it takes to accelerate bearing wear and cause abnormal play, often accompanied by blue smoke from the exhaust. A blocked air filter or a cracked intercooler will also disrupt intake pressure and weaken the turbine, while revving the engine hard without allowing it to cool down first causes premature deterioration of the seals.

Compatibility of the turbo with the Audi A6 1.9 TDI

This new turbo is compatible with reference 454231-5008S and fits the Audi A6 equipped with the 1.9 TDI 110 hp and 1.9 TDI 115 hp engines, corresponding to engine codes AFN, AVB, AJM and ATJ. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on your old turbo, as several closely related variants may have been fitted to this engine range depending on the year of production and the market.

Equivalent references

028145702L

028145702LV

028145702LX

028145702R

028145702RU

028145702RV

028145702RV225

028145702RV500

028145702RV550

028145702RX

035145702H

035145702HV

035145702HX

038145702L

038145702LU

038145702LV

038145702LX

454231-5005S

454231-5006S

454231-5008S

454231-5013S

Exchange and warranty for this Audi A6 turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Audi A6 is never left off the road unnecessarily. The part is covered by a 12-month warranty, provided fitting is carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.

Advice before and after fitting on your Audi A6 1.9 TDI

Before fitting the new turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, ensure the intake hoses are clean and confirm there are no air leaks, in order to prevent any premature contamination of the new component. Always prime the oil feed pipe before the first start-up, then run the engine at idle for a few minutes to ensure even lubrication of the turbine shaft from the outset.

This same turbo also fits

New Audi A3 Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

New Audi A4 Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

New Skoda Superb Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

New Volkswagen Passat Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_317d44f6-f95d-49d5-a2bc-410ecbba5f4a.png?v=1790812064
