Loss of power under acceleration, blue or black exhaust smoke, an unusual whistling noise under the bonnet, or an illuminated engine warning light can all point to a failing turbo. However, you should first check the condition of the intake hoses, the cleanliness of the air filter, whether there are any intercooler leaks, and the oil pressure before concluding that a replacement is needed. A visual inspection of the turbo shaft (checking axial and radial play) will also help confirm whether the unit is worn.

Compatibility of the turbo for Toyota Land Cruiser

This new turbo is compatible with reference 9B014 and fits the 2.5 D-4D engine, paired with engine code 2KD-FTV – a 2494 cm3 diesel engine. Before fitting the new turbo, it is essential to check the oil circuit, clean or replace the hoses, and inspect the air intake for any foreign matter. When starting the engine for the first time, pre-lubricating the turbo with oil is recommended to ensure the bearings are immediately lubricated and to prevent premature wear.

Check the oil circuit and oil pressure

Inspect the hoses and air intake

Clean or replace the air filter

Pre-lubricate with oil before starting

This same turbo also fits

New Toyota Hiace Turbo – Ref. 9B014

New Toyota Hilux Turbo – Ref. 9B014

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_76a66914-ea78-4e5c-a305-46e826ce4684.png?v=1790813791
