An illuminated engine warning light accompanied by the vehicle entering limp mode is also a common symptom when boost pressure is no longer being properly controlled. These warning signs should prompt you to have the boost circuit checked without delay, before the fault worsens.

Compatibility of the new turbo with the Audi A3 1.9 TDI

This new turbo is compatible with reference 454231-5008S, used on Audi A3 models fitted with the 1.9 TDI. Before placing an order, it is essential to verify the exact match by checking the reference number printed on your existing turbocharger, as several housing variants were fitted to this model depending on the version and year of manufacture.

Equivalent references

028145702L

028145702LV

028145702LX

028145702R

028145702RU

028145702RV

028145702RV225

028145702RV500

028145702RV550

028145702RX

035145702H

035145702HV

035145702HX

038145702L

038145702LU

038145702LV

038145702LX

454231-5005S

454231-5006S

454231-5008S

454231-5013S

Exchange basis and warranty for this new turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbocharger is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. The old unit is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Audi A3 is not left off the road unnecessarily. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, provided fitting is carried out by a professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, up to 10 instalments.

Advice before fitting on your A3 1.9 TDI

Before installing the new turbo, it is recommended that you check the condition of the oil circuit, hoses and air intake, as a new turbo fitted to a dirty or poorly maintained circuit can be damaged very quickly. Remember also to check the air filter and intercooler, both of which directly affect the service life of the turbocharger. When starting up, priming the turbo with oil before the first start prevents the bearings from running dry. Finally, an oil change using a suitable high-quality oil and regular servicing will reduce the risk of premature failure on this type of turbocharged diesel engine.

This same turbo also fits

New Audi A4 Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

New Audi A6 Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

New Skoda Superb Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

New Volkswagen Passat Turbo – Ref. 454231-5008S

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_9c9a02d3-2603-4b94-8c18-aef2164886b0.png?v=1790812062
