turbo-bmw-serie-1-neuf-49477-02404
New BMW Série 1 Turbo – Ref. 49477-02404

What changes behind the wheel of a BMW Série 1 with a healthy turbo

On a BMW Série 1 120i or 125i, a healthy turbocharger delivers an immediate, linear boost build-up, a crisp response from low revs, and no whistling or exhaust smoke. As soon as a turbo starts to fail, driving becomes hesitant: throttle response lags, power seems to plateau, and the engine may enter limp-home mode. Fitting a new turbo instantly restores the original driving feel, with stable boost pressure and the normal sound of the 2.0-litre petrol engine.

Compatibility of the new turbo for BMW Série 1

This new turbo is compatible with reference 49477-02404 and fits BMW Série 1 models with the 120i and 125i petrol engines, carrying engine codes B48B20, B48 B20 A and B48 B20 B, with an engine capacity of 1998 cm3. Before placing an order, we recommend that customers verify the reference shown on their original turbo or on the vehicle's identification plate, as versions and specifications may vary depending on the trim level.

Equivalent references

11652393604

11657637563

11658631891

11658631892

2393604

239360401

49477-02404

7637563

763756305

763756307

763756308

763756309

763756310

763756311

763756312

8631891

8631892

Exchange basis and warranty for this BMW Série 1 turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required, though it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your vehicle is never left off the road. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, provided fitting is carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Fitting and maintenance advice for the B48 engine

On the B48 engines fitted to BMW Série 1 models, premature turbo failure is most commonly caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality engine oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter allowing particles to enter the compressor. Before fitting the new turbo, it is recommended to check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the air intake, then to prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings.

This same turbo also fits

New BMW Série 2 Turbo – Ref. 49477-02404

New BMW Série 3 Turbo – Ref. 49477-02404

New BMW Série 4 Turbo – Ref. 49477-02404

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_d575e024-3683-4ae8-8424-d6e1414063fd.png?v=1790813758
