On this model, several reference variants may have been fitted at the factory depending on the date of manufacture and the original supplier, which is why it is important to compare the physical markings on the removed unit with the list on this page before ordering.

Compatible engines on the Cordoba

This new turbo is compatible with the 1.4 TDI engines producing 70 hp and 80 hp as fitted to the SEAT Cordoba, with an engine capacity of 1422 cm³. The associated engine codes are AMF, BAY, BHC, BMS, BNM, BNV and BWB. These compact diesel units, very common in small city cars and saloons within the group, place considerable demand on the turbo during urban driving with frequent stops and restarts, which accelerates wear on the lubrication circuit if maintenance is not kept up to a rigorous standard.

Common causes of turbo failure on these 1.4 TDI engines

On these engines, turbo failure most commonly results from insufficient lubrication caused by delayed oil changes or the use of oil that does not meet manufacturer specifications, a clogged air filter disrupting intake airflow, or a leak at the intercooler upsetting air pressure balance. Driving with sudden high-rev bursts immediately after a cold start also accelerates wear on the turbo's bearings.

Check the condition and cleanliness of the oil circuit before fitting

Inspect the hoses and air intake for cracks or disconnections

Prime the new turbo with oil before first start-up

Always replace the oil filter and check the air filter

Exchange basis and warranty

This new turbo for the SEAT Cordoba is sold on an exchange basis: return of your old turbo is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, but it is only collected after the new unit has been delivered and fitted, so your vehicle is not left off the road.
