This diesel unit places considerable demands on the turbo's variable geometry, and a gradual build-up of deposits on that geometry – often caused by poor-quality oil or oil changed too infrequently – leads to the vanes seizing. A blocked air filter or a damaged air intake can also allow contaminants through that damage the compressor wheels. Aggressive acceleration without a warm-up period, or switching the engine off immediately after a motorway run, will also accelerate bearing wear.

A new turbo compatible with reference 17201-27030A

This new turbo is compatible with reference 17201-27030A and its equivalents, designed for Toyota Avensis models fitted with the 2.0 D-4D diesel engine (engine code 1CD-FTV, engine capacity 1995 cm³). Particular attention should be paid to oil cleanliness and adherence to oil change intervals, as these are key factors in turbo longevity. When starting up for the first time, it is recommended to prime the turbo with oil before the initial start, to ensure immediate bearing lubrication and prevent any dry running.

This same turbo also fits

New Toyota RAV4 Turbo – Ref. 17201-27030A

New Toyota Previa Turbo – Ref. 17201-27030A

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_4a78a5ba-4760-4f62-9a5a-4dd747e107be.png?v=1790812106
