A high-pitched whistle under acceleration, a gradual loss of power, blue or grey exhaust smoke, and increased oil consumption are all characteristic signs of turbocharger failure on the 1.9 TDI engines fitted to this vehicle. Before carrying out any replacement, also check the condition of the boost hoses, the cleanliness of the EGR valve, and whether there are any oil leaks at the connections, as these can produce symptoms very similar to a turbo fault.

Compatibility of the new turbo with the Caddy 1.9 TDI

This new turbo is compatible with reference 54399880022 and fits the Volkswagen Caddy with 1.9 TDI 90 hp and 1.9 TDI 105 hp engines, associated with engine codes BJB, BKC, BXE, BRU, BXF and BXJ. These 1896 cm³ diesel units are fitted to a large proportion of the Caddy fleet used in both professional and family applications. Before confirming your order, check the reference printed on your original turbo or on the engine plate to ensure an exact match with your vehicle.

Straightforward sale: no unit to return

This new turbo is sold as a straightforward sale: you receive a single delivery and there is no unit to return – no collection, no deposit, nothing to arrange. It comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Tips for a reliable fit on the Caddy 1.9 TDI

On these engines, turbo lifespan is heavily dependent on the quality and regularity of oil changes, as the turbocharger bearings are continuously lubricated by the engine oil. A clogged air filter, a damaged intercooler, or a history of harsh acceleration will also accelerate wear. Before fitting, check the oil circuit, the intake hoses, and the air intake to eliminate any debris that could damage the new turbo. On start-up, it is recommended to prime the turbocharger with oil to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings from the very first start.

This same turbo also fits

New Audi A3 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

New SEAT Altea 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

New SEAT Ibiza 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

New SEAT Leon 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

New SEAT Toledo 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

New Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

New Volkswagen Golf 1.9 TDI Turbo – Ref. 54399880022

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_6a9275f4-03aa-470d-b38a-99c445347961.png?v=1790810383
