A visual inspection of the turbo can reveal abnormal shaft play, oil leaks at the seals, or carbon deposits on the compressor wheel. You should then check the boost pressure, the condition of the hose connecting the turbo to the intercooler, and the cleanliness of the air filter — a blocked filter can distort the diagnosis and mimic a turbo fault when the air supply is simply restricted. On this engine, blue smoke from the exhaust, an unusual whistling noise under acceleration, or a gradual loss of power are all warning signs that should be investigated before proceeding with a replacement.

New turbo for the Volvo C30 1.6 D

This new turbo is compatible with reference 753420-5006S and fits the Volvo C30 equipped with the 1.6 D diesel engine, engine code D4164T, with an engine capacity of 1560 cm³. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Fitting advice for the D4164T engine

On the D4164T engine, the majority of turbo failures are caused by lubrication issues linked to incorrect oil, missed oil changes, or a blocked oil filter. Before fitting, check the oil circuit, the cleanliness of the feed and return hoses, and the air intake upstream of the turbo to rule out contamination by foreign bodies. Also check the condition of the intercooler and its associated hoses. When starting the engine for the first time, it is essential to prime the turbo with oil to ensure the bearings are lubricated immediately from the first start.

This same turbo also fits

New Turbo Citroën Berlingo – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Citroën C2 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Citroën C3 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Citroën C4 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Citroën C5 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Ford C-Max – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Ford Focus – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo MINI Cooper – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Mazda 3 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Peugeot 1007 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Peugeot 206 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Peugeot 207 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Peugeot 307 – Ref. 753420-5006S

New Turbo Volvo V50 – Ref. 753420-5006S

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_1ddf5d8c-5c37-4aca-90ef-290a087b4e22.png?v=1790811860
