Poor-quality engine oil, missed oil changes or a clogged oil filter all accelerate premature wear of the central cartridge. A blocked air filter or a cracked intercooler can also upset the air pressure balance and cause the turbo to overheat, as can hard acceleration from cold.

New turbo for the Volvo S60 2.4 D5: compatibility and reference

This new turbo is compatible with reference 723167-5008S and fits the 2.4 D5 engine of the Volvo S60, associated with engine codes D5244T, D5244T2, D5244T5. On first start-up, prime the turbo with oil before starting the engine to ensure the bearings are immediately lubricated. It is also recommended to inspect the intercooler and air filter, and to follow the manufacturer's oil change intervals to maximise the service life of the new turbo.

This same turbo also fits

New Volvo V70 Turbo – Ref. 723167-5008S

New Volvo S80 Turbo – Ref. 723167-5008S

New Volvo XC70 Turbo – Ref. 723167-5008S

New Volvo XC90 Turbo – Ref. 723167-5008S

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_5ffcf6c6-da99-4963-ab9e-69240bde5c5e.png?v=1790812632
