A gradual loss of power, an unusual whistling noise under acceleration, or exhaust smoke can equally be caused by a split hose, a clogged mass airflow sensor, or a faulty valve. On the 2.0 petrol engines fitted to the Volvo V40, it is therefore advisable to check the intake circuit for air leaks, inspect the intercooler, and verify oil pressure before concluding that the turbo has failed. Checking the turbine shaft play and carrying out a boost circuit pressure test can help avoid an unnecessary replacement.

New turbo for the Volvo V40 – product overview

This new turbo is compatible with reference 53039880413 and its equivalents, designed for Volvo V40 models fitted with a 2.0-litre petrol engine. Insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil, or a clogged air filter are among the most common causes of turbo failure on this type of turbocharged petrol engine. On first start-up, prime the oil circuit before starting the engine to ensure immediate lubrication of the turbine bearings. Driving gently during the first few kilometres will help the new turbo build up boost pressure correctly.

Flexible payment for your Volvo V40 turbo

Payment for your new Volvo V40 turbo can be spread over several instalments – pay in up to 10 instalments to make your purchase easier.

This turbo also fits

New Turbo Volvo S60 – Ref. 53039880413

New Turbo Volvo V60 – Ref. 53039880413

New Turbo Volvo XC60 – Ref. 53039880413

New Turbo Volvo V70 – Ref. 53039880413

New Turbo Volvo XC70 – Ref. 53039880413

New Turbo Volvo S80 – Ref. 53039880413

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_00b30f52-44bc-415c-88be-f32443581b1a.png?v=1790810430
