RER

This reconditioned Audi A3 1.6 TDI gearbox, reference RER, is a dual-clutch unit of the DSG 7 type, known as S tronic at Audi. Reconditioning involves a complete strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, replacement of the gears, synchros, bearings and seals most subject to wear, followed by reassembly to manufacturer tolerances and a bench test.

Signs that the DSG 7 gearbox needs replacing

On an Audi A3 fitted with reference RER, several warning signs should not be ignored: juddering or jolting during gear changes, slipping under load, harsh or delayed shifts, loss of drive in forward or reverse, the gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard, or the unit going into limp mode and restricting drive to a single gear. These symptoms generally indicate internal wear of the gearbox or its transmission components.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit; the dual-clutch assembly, however, is supplied new. The mechatronic unit remains the vehicle's original one: it is neither reconditioned nor tested as part of this service, and must be retained and refitted during installation.

Exchange basis: no downtime for your garage

With our exchange range, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, so the garage is never left without a part and the vehicle is off the road for as little time as possible. The old gearbox is only collected after the new unit has been delivered and fitted; its return is nonetheless required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Warranty and payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment for your order can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Compatible vehicles (ref.
