Loss of power under acceleration, blue or black exhaust smoke, an unusual whistling noise when the engine revs rise, or excessive oil consumption are all common signs of a worn turbo on the AUQ, ARZ and APP engines fitted to the A3 8L. A visual check of the shaft play, the condition of the intake hose and the presence of oil deposits in the air circuit will help confirm the source of the problem before replacing the part.

Compatibility of the reconditioned turbo for the Audi A3 1.8 T

This reconditioned turbo is compatible with reference 53039880052, fitted to Audi A3 models powered by the 1.8 T 180 engine (1781 cm³), with engine codes AUQ, ARZ and APP. Before placing an order, it is essential to check the exact reference printed on your vehicle's old turbo, as several turbo variants may exist depending on the version and trim level of the A3.

Exchange basis and warranty for this Audi A3 turbo

This reconditioned turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. The return only takes place after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted to the Audi A3, so the vehicle is not left off the road during the process. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Fitting advice for the A3 1.8 T engine

On the AUQ, ARZ and APP engines, turbo longevity depends heavily on the quality and frequency of engine oil changes, as this hydrodynamic bearing turbo is sensitive to sludge build-up and loss of oil pressure. Before fitting, check the oil circuit (feed and return hoses), the condition of the air filter and that there are no air intake leaks, in order to prevent particles being ingested and damaging the turbine. On first start-up, it is recommended to prime the turbo with oil to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and extend the service life of the part.

This same turbo also fits

Reconditioned Audi TT Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

Reconditioned SEAT Leon Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

Reconditioned Skoda Octavia Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

Reconditioned Volkswagen Bora Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

Reconditioned Volkswagen Golf Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

Reconditioned Volkswagen Jetta Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

Reconditioned Volkswagen New Beetle Turbo – Ref. 53039880052

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0656/9161/5317/files/turbo-echange-standard_7ab61669-3498-42de-bbee-c6876891b385.png?v=1790810360
