Reconditioning involves a full strip-down, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, replacement of gears, synchros, bearings and seals as required, and reassembly to manufacturer tolerances, followed by a comprehensive bench test. This process delivers performance close to that of a new gearbox, making it well suited to the demanding commercial use typical of the Jumpy. Operation is verified before dispatch to ensure reliability from the moment of installation.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Citroën Jumpy 1.6 HDi fitted with this 5-speed manual gearbox, several warning signs should not be ignored: stiff or crunching gear changes, a gear jumping out spontaneously whilst driving, a persistent grinding noise in neutral, abnormal resistance or excessive play in the gear lever, and visible oil leaks beneath the casing. These symptoms most commonly indicate advanced internal wear of the gears or synchros and call for prompt replacement before further damage is caused to the transmission or clutch.

Exchange Basis: Immediate Delivery, Deferred Return of the Old Unit

With this gearbox sold on an exchange basis, the reconditioned unit is dispatched first, without waiting for the old unit to be returned.
