It is a 6-speed manual gearbox, fully reconditioned to a rigorous process: the unit is completely stripped down, every component is cleaned and inspected, and the gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced before the gearbox is reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and given a final bench test.

Signs that your gearbox needs replacing

On a C-Max fitted with this 6-speed manual gearbox, several warning signs should not be ignored: stiff or crunching gear changes, a grinding noise when selecting second or third, juddering under acceleration, a dull rumble in neutral, vibrations felt through the gear lever, or difficulty engaging reverse. These symptoms point to internal wear that warrants a full gearbox replacement rather than a partial repair.

Exchange basis – immediate dispatch, deferred return

This reconditioned gearbox is sold on an exchange basis: it is dispatched straight away, without waiting for the old unit to be returned first. The garage is never left without a gearbox and the vehicle is not off the road unnecessarily. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned AV6R7002HH unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Compatibility

This AV6R7002HH gearbox is compatible with Ford C-Max 1.6 TDCi vehicles fitted with engine codes G8DA, HHDA, T1DA and T3DA.

Warranty and payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional.
