GS6-53DG - TCJ4

This reconditioned MINI Cooper 1.6 D gearbox, reference GS6-53DG - TCJ4, is a 6-speed manual unit designed to restore precise, quiet gear changes. The reconditioning process involves a full strip-down, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch, ensuring performance that meets the original factory specification.

Signs that your gearbox needs replacing

Several symptoms should alert the driver of a MINI Cooper 1.6 D fitted with this 6-speed manual gearbox: crunching or grinding when changing gear, difficulty engaging a gear, unexpected juddering or vibrations, an imprecise neutral feel, or metallic noises whilst driving. Occasional refusal to engage a gear — particularly reverse or sixth — is also a common sign of internal wear to the synchros or bearings and should not be ignored.

Exchange basis: the reconditioned unit is dispatched before your old gearbox is collected

As part of this exchange range, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first so that your vehicle is never left off the road. The old gearbox — casing intact — is only collected after the EDEN BOITES unit has been delivered and fitted, ensuring the garage always has a replacement part without any interruption to work. Return of the old gearbox is nonetheless required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Warranty and payment options

This gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. You can spread the cost of your order by paying in up to 10 instalments.

Compatible vehicles (ref.
