It is designed for vehicles fitted with this engine that have suffered an internal failure requiring complete block replacement. This solution restores near-original performance without the need for repeated partial repairs or a change of vehicle.

Signs that this engine needs replacing

Several warning signs should alert the owner of an Astra 1.4 Turbo: noticeable power loss under acceleration, visible exhaust smoke, the engine warning light coming on accompanied by a limp-home mode, or abnormally high oil consumption. A metallic noise from inside the block, rough idling, or repeated difficulty starting are often signs of advanced internal wear that justify a full replacement rather than a one-off repair.

A fully reconditioned engine

This B14NEL engine is reconditioned to a rigorous process: complete strip-down of the block, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, replacement of internal wear parts according to their condition, then reassembly to manufacturer tolerances and bench testing before dispatch. The engine is supplied as a bare engine; the exact details of what is included with this B14NEL reference are specified on the quote.

Exchange basis: the old unit collected after delivery

This engine is offered on an exchange basis, rebuilt to 0 km. The reconditioned unit is dispatched first so that the garage is never left without an engine and the vehicle is not off the road during the work. The old unit — the intact block — is only collected after delivery and fitting of the reconditioned engine. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

A deposit is taken at the time of order and refunded after delivery, fitting, and the return and receipt of the old unit.

Compatibility

This B14NEL reference applies to Opel Astra vehicles fitted with engine code B14NEL, a 1364 cm³ 1.4 Turbo petrol engine.
