The engine is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

Signs That Your A17DTR Engine Needs Replacing

Several warning signs should alert the owner of an Astra fitted with the 1.7 CDTi: blue or black exhaust smoke, a noticeable loss of power under acceleration, a recurring engine warning light, an unusual metallic noise at idle, abnormally high oil consumption, or difficulty starting from cold. These symptoms often indicate advanced internal wear, making a complete replacement more appropriate than a partial repair.

Exchange Basis: Delivery Before Return of the Old Unit

This engine is offered on an exchange basis, rebuilt to 0 km. The old unit is not collected before delivery: the reconditioned engine is dispatched first so that the garage is never left without a part and the vehicle is not left immobilised on the ramp. The engine is sold as a bare engine; the exact details of the items supplied with reference A17DTR are specified on the quote.

A deposit is required as part of this exchange.
