This dual-clutch automatic gearbox is found in a wide range of Ibiza models powered by the 1.4 TSI petrol engine, and its correct operation is essential for smooth gear changes and reliable everyday transmission performance. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The gearbox is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

This gearbox, reference NQH, is sold without the mechatronic unit: this component is not supplied or included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer. The dual-clutch, however, is supplied new with this gearbox.

Signs That Your DSG 7 Gearbox Needs Replacing

A worn DSG 7 gearbox on an Ibiza 1.4 TSI often makes itself known through a number of tell-tale symptoms that are worth monitoring before a complete failure occurs:

Juddering or slipping during gear changes

Automatic gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard

Slow or jerky gear changes, particularly when pulling away

Vibrations or abnormal noise under acceleration

Gearbox shuddering or hesitating in position D at a standstill

Harsh downshifts or refusal to engage certain gears

Exchange Basis: How Does It Work?

This reconditioned gearbox is delivered before the old unit is collected: it is dispatched first, so the garage is never left without a gearbox and the vehicle is not left stranded on the ramp.
