Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch, ensuring reliable performance as soon as the vehicle is back on the road.

Signs That Your Leon's 6-Speed Manual Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a SEAT Leon fitted with the 1.2 TSI, there are several warning signs drivers should look out for: gear changes that become stiff or imprecise, crunching when changing down, the gearbox jumping into neutral on its own, unusual vibrations through the gear lever, or a persistent metallic noise whilst driving. An occasional refusal to engage a gear – second or fifth in particular – is also common when the internal synchros are worn. These symptoms point to internal mechanical wear within the manual gearbox and justify replacement with a reconditioned unit such as reference LNY.

Exchange Basis: Your Garage Is Never Left Standing

This gearbox is rebuilt to 0 km and sold on an exchange basis.
