RSN

Reconditioned SEAT Leon 1.8 TSI Gearbox – Reference RSN

This reconditioned gearbox for the SEAT Leon 1.8 TSI – a 1798 cm³ petrol unit compatible with CJSA and CJSB engine codes – carries reference RSN and replaces a worn 6-speed manual gearbox without inheriting any of the faults of the old unit. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down, thorough cleaning and inspection of every internal component, followed by replacement of any gears, synchros, bearings and seals identified as worn. The gearbox is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch, ensuring smooth, precise gear changes from the moment it is fitted. Every reconditioned gearbox reference RSN is prepared to the same exacting standard as a new unit, delivering comparable service life on this Leon model.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Leon fitted with this 1.8 TSI unit, several warning signs should not be ignored: stiff or crunching gear changes, a gear jumping out or refusing to engage, vibrations felt through the gear lever, grinding noise at idle or while driving, and oil seeping from the casing. These symptoms typically indicate advanced internal wear that warrants replacement with a reconditioned gearbox rather than a partial and uncertain repair. A gearbox showing these signs should not be left unattended, as wear can deteriorate rapidly and cause damage to other transmission components.

Exchange Basis: Delivery Before Return of the Old Unit

This gearbox reference RSN is supplied on an exchange basis, rebuilt to 0 km. In practice, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, allowing the garage to carry on working without leaving the vehicle on the ramp. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected once the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted. This arrangement means the garage suffers no prolonged downtime and the vehicle can remain on the ramp without unnecessary interruption to the job. Return of the old unit is nonetheless required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Compatibility

The reconditioned gearbox reference RSN is compatible with the following vehicles:

SEAT Leon 1.8 TSI petrol

Engine codes CJSA and CJSB

Engine capacity: 1798 cm³

6-speed manual gearbox, reference RSN

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox reference RSN is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, valid subject to fitting by a qualified professional.
