On this generation of Leon, the 6-speed manual gearbox paired with the 2.0 TSI is put under considerable strain by drivers seeking sharp acceleration, which accelerates wear on certain internal components over the kilometres. When reconditioned, the unit is fully stripped, cleaned and checked point by point; worn internal parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced before the gearbox is reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and given a final bench test.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

Difficult gear changes or crunching when changing gear, particularly from second to third;

A gear jumping out or refusing to stay engaged in corners, especially in fifth;

A persistent metallic noise or rumbling in neutral on this 6-speed manual gearbox;

Abnormal resistance or a stiff point when engaging reverse, even from a complete standstill;

Vibrations or judder during gear changes, especially when cold or after a long journey;

Gearbox oil leak visible under the vehicle, or oil level dropping abnormally;

Exchange Basis – Rebuilt to 0 km

This KZS gearbox is sold on an exchange basis, rebuilt to 0 km.
