This type of dual-clutch gearbox handles automatic gear changes on the Passat 2.0 TDI, making its reliable operation essential to driving comfort and vehicle dependability. Reconditioning this gearbox means it is fully stripped down, cleaned and inspected component by component; its gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced according to the wear found, before the unit is reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested prior to dispatch.

Signs That Your DSG 6 Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Passat 2.0 TDI, several symptoms indicate wear on the DSG 6 gearbox:

juddering or jerking during gear changes

slipping felt under acceleration

gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard

dull noise or grinding whilst driving

difficulty engaging D or S mode

intermittent loss of power for no apparent reason

Ignoring these signs risks a complete gearbox seizure and leaving the vehicle immobilised.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: this component is neither supplied nor included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and it remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer.
