EWT

Reconditioned Volkswagen Polo 1.9 TDI Gearbox – Ref. EWT

This reconditioned Volkswagen Polo 1.9 TDI gearbox, reference EWT, is a 5-speed manual unit compatible with the 1896 cm³ diesel engine bearing engine code ATD. The reference EWT precisely identifies this 5-speed manual gearbox type and should not be confused with other references fitted to the same Polo range. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the EWT gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every internal component, replacement of wear parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals, followed by reassembly to manufacturer tolerances and bench testing.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Polo 1.9 TDI fitted with the EWT manual gearbox, several warning signs should not be ignored: stiff or grinding gear changes, resistance on the lever particularly in second or fifth gear, crunching when changing gear, unexpected jumping out of an engaged gear, or a visible gearbox oil leak beneath the vehicle. These symptoms generally indicate worn synchros or internal bearings within the EWT gearbox and warrant reconditioning before the fault worsens.

Exchange Basis: Your Reconditioned Gearbox Delivered Before the Old Unit Is Collected

Under the exchange scheme, the EWT gearbox rebuilt to 0 km is dispatched first, so your garage is never left without a part. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted to the vehicle. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Warranty and Payment

This Volkswagen Polo gearbox comes with a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional.
