The reconditioning process involves a full strip-down, cleaning and inspection of every internal component, replacement of all wear parts — including gears, synchros, bearings and seals — followed by reassembly to manufacturer tolerances and a final bench test.

Signs that your gearbox needs replacing

Stiff or notchy gear changes, particularly on second or third

Crunching or metallic grinding when changing gear

A gear jumping out on its own whilst driving

Unusual vibrations in neutral or on the move

Visible gearbox oil leak underneath the vehicle

Gear lever that judders or resists in neutral

Exchange basis: the reconditioned unit is dispatched before your old one is returned

This RKC gearbox is sold on an exchange basis: the reconditioned unit is dispatched as soon as your order is confirmed, without waiting for the return of your old gearbox.
