This process ensures performance close to that of a new gearbox. Reference FPE is an exact match for this gearbox model, fitted to the Sharan with these diesel engines.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Sharan 1.9 TDI fitted with this 6-speed manual gearbox, several symptoms point to advanced wear: gear changes becoming stiff or imprecise, crunching in 2nd or 3rd gear, a gear jumping out under acceleration or deceleration, a grinding noise in neutral with the engine running, the gear lever vibrating or resisting abnormally, and visible oil leaks around the casing.
