CRL

Reconditioned Volkswagen Transporter 2.4 D Gearbox – Reference CRL

This reconditioned gearbox for the Volkswagen Transporter 2.4 D, compatible with AAB and AJA engines of 2370 cm³, carries the reference CRL. Reconditioning a gearbox means it is completely stripped down, cleaned and inspected part by part; worn gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced, before being reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested to verify that the whole unit functions correctly.

Signs That Your Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Transporter used daily, several warning signs should not be ignored: increasingly stiff gear changes, crunching in first gear or reverse, jumping out of gear under acceleration, unusual vibrations while driving, or abnormal noise in neutral. These symptoms indicate advanced internal wear and justify replacing the gearbox rather than attempting a one-off repair.

Exchange Basis – Back on the Road Quickly

This CRL gearbox is sold on an exchange basis: it is rebuilt to 0 km and dispatched first, without waiting for the old unit to be returned. The garage is therefore never without a part, and the vehicle is not off the road while the return is arranged. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, must then be sent back after delivery and fitting, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions; return of the old unit is required.

Compatibility

This CRL gearbox is intended for Volkswagen Transporter vehicles fitted with AAB and AJA engines of 2370 cm³ with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is recommended to check the engine code on the manufacturer's plate before placing an order.

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment for this gearbox can be spread over several instalments, with up to 10 instalments available.

EDEN BOITES supports you from quote through to collection of the old unit.
