When should I repair the gearbox?
Regular maintenance
The most important maintenance task is to regularly drain your gearbox. The operation is relatively simple, but the drain and filler plugs are not always accessible. Before filling with new gearbox oil, the old oil must be drained:
- Raise your vehicle and remove the protective shield from the box;
- Unscrew the drain plug to allow the used oil to drain out;
- Loosen the housing screws and remove the housing. Be sure to position ithorizontally;
- Wipe off the housing and surrounding magnets;
- Replace the gasket, strainer and sealing ring, then reposition the housing.
