This reconditioned gearbox is designed for the Audi A1 1.6 TDI fitted with the S tronic 6 transmission, with an engine capacity of 1598 cm³, and is compatible with CAYB and CAYC engine codes; it carries the reference RCW. Reconditioning follows a rigorous process: the gearbox is fully stripped, cleaned and inspected, internal wear components such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced, and the unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

Signs That Your S tronic Gearbox Needs Replacing

Exchange Basis – Old Unit Collected After Fitting

This gearbox is sold on an exchange basis, rebuilt to 0 km. The reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, before the old unit is collected; the garage is therefore never left without a part and the vehicle is off the road for as short a time as possible. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the RCW gearbox has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: this electronic component is neither supplied nor included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer. The dual-clutch assembly, however, is supplied with this reconditioned gearbox.

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
