From the SensoDrive of the 2000s to the BlueHDi of the 2020s: forty years of reconditioned Citroën parts

The collection spans 1987 to 2026, meaning the parts available range from the ZX and Saxo through to the latest-generation C4 and Jumper. Between those two extremes, transmission architecture changed beyond recognition: the 5-speed manual gearboxes of the 1990s gave way to 6-speed units, then to automated manual gearboxes —SensoDrive, BMP5 and BMP6— while diesel engines evolved from first-generation DW10s to DW12s, and then to the BlueHDi families (DV5, DV6FC, DW10F). Pinpointing the exact generation is therefore the first practical challenge.

Gearboxes: manual, automated manual and ETG6 depending on the model

Gearboxes account for half the catalogue. On city-car models —C1, C2, C3, DS3— the SensoDrive automated manual gearbox (an electro-hydraulically actuated manual gearbox, supplied without the robot unit or actuator) is very well represented. The C4 and C5 are home to the 6-speed manual gearboxes, most commonly paired with 1.6 HDi or 2.0 HDi engines. On the Jumper and Jumpy, 5-speed manual gearboxes remain dominant, with variants depending on the axle ratio and payload. The ETG6 appears on the C3 and DS3 from around 2012: it is a 6-speed automated manual gearbox, again supplied without the actuator.

Engines: DW10, DW12, EB2 and PureTech — the codes to check before ordering

Engines make up the other half of the catalogue, with a particularly high density of engine codes on the2.0 HDi(codes RHY, RHZ, RHH, RHK, RHR, AHZ, DW10UTED, DW10FUC among others) and the1.6 HDi(codes 9HX, 9HZ, 9HP, 9HF, 9HU, DV6ATED4, DV6FC…). With both these engines, the same engine capacity can correspond to units from different generations with incompatible interfaces: the engine code stamped on the block — not the quoted power output — is the only reliable criterion. The1.2 PureTech(EB2DT, EB2ADTS, HNZ, HNY, HNS, HNP) is fitted to the C3, the C4 Cactus and the DS3/DS4 from 2013 onwards; its codes differ according to the rated power output (110 or 130 hp) and the year of manufacture. The2.2 HDi(codes 4HG, 4HH, 4HJ, 4HU, 4HV, DW12RUC…) is fitted primarily to the Jumper, the C8 and the C5 in high-power versions. All engines are supplied as bare engines.

Turbos and transfer cases: Jumper, C-Crosser and C8 lead the way

65 turbos complete the catalogue, in new or reconditioned versions, principally for the HDi and BlueHDi engines of the Jumper and C5. The C-Crosser, derived from the Mitsubishi platform, has specific transfer cases not found on any other model in the range. To narrow down your search, the model and engine code remain the two most reliable starting points: the same quoted engine can cover several engine families depending on the year of production.
