From the Panda of the 1980s to the latest Ducato: which Fiat part fits which engine generation?

The answer comes down to one simple rule: the engine code takes priority over engine capacity, because Fiat applied several different codes to the same power output depending on the year and model. The catalogue covers model years 1985 to 2024, with reconditioned gearboxes, engines and turbos for the full range.

The Fiat collection spans more than twenty distinct models. The Ducato alone accounts for the largest share, followed by the 500, the Doblo, the Panda and the Punto. Gearboxes make up the largest family, ahead of bare engines and turbos.

Diesel: Multijet and JTD – the identification pitfalls

Fiat's diesel engines cover a wide range: 1.3 Multijet, 1.6 Multijet, 1.9 JTD, 2.0 Multijet, 2.3 Multijet, 2.8 JTD and 3.0 Multijet. The most common pitfall involves the 2.3 Multijet: at the same power output (130 or 131 hp, for example), engine codes vary according to the Ducato generation — F1AE3481D, F1AGL411B, F1AGL411C, F1AGL411D and F1AGL411M are not interchangeable. The same logic applies to the 1.3 Multijet: between 75 and 95 hp, codes range from 169A1000 to 330A1000 depending on the model (Panda, Punto, Doblo, Fiorino). The 1.6 Multijet uses R9M codes (R9M410, R9M413, R9M450, R9M452…) stemming from the PSA–Fiat partnership, found in particular on the Scudo and Talento. On the 2.0 Multijet, codes such as DW10UTED, RHK or M9R indicate a PSA origin: the part is not the same as on a 2.0 Multijet with code 250A1000 or 263A1000.

Petrol engines and specific variants: TwinAir, T-Jet, FireFly

On the petrol side, three families deserve attention. The 0.9 TwinAir (codes 199B6000, 312A2000, 312A5000 depending on power output and model year) is fitted to the 500, the Panda and the Punto: its 5-speed manual gearbox differs from the Dualogic version, which is an automated manual gearbox sold without its actuator. The 1.4 T-Jet (codes 198A1000, 940B7000, 199A8000…) covers power outputs ranging from 120 to 160 hp, including Abarth variants: the engine code is the only reliable way to tell the parts apart. The 1.0 FireFly (code 55282151), introduced on recent versions of the 500 and the Panda, requires a different-generation gearbox and must not be confused with the older 1.0 (199B7000). For Ducato light commercial vehicles in heavy-duty use, reconditioned exchange turbos cover mainly the 2.3 and 3.0 Multijet families.

    Are reconditioned Fiat parts reliable?

Yes. Every Fiat part is reconditioned in our workshop, with wear parts replaced, bench-tested and guaranteed for up to 24 months. A reliable and far more affordable alternative to new, starting from a restored original part.

How does the exchange system work for a Fiat part?
