This reconditioned SEAT Leon 2.0 TSI gearbox, reference SGD, is a DSG 6 dual-clutch unit designed for the most dynamic petrol engines in the range. As part of the reconditioning process, it undergoes a full strip-down, thorough cleaning and precise inspection of every internal component before all wear parts are replaced. The gearbox is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested to verify correct operation across all ratios before dispatch. The SGD reference ensures reliable compatibility with the 2.0 TSI engines fitted to certain performance versions of the Leon.

Signs that your DSG 6 gearbox needs replacing

A DSG 6 gearbox nearing the end of its life will display several characteristic symptoms that should not be ignored.

• Jerking or shuddering during gear changes, particularly when pulling away
• Slipping felt under acceleration despite a stable engine speed
• Delayed gear engagement or the gearbox dropping into limp mode, indicated on the dashboard

Exchange basis: your old unit collected after delivery

Under the exchange scheme, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first so your vehicle is never left off the road for longer than necessary. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected once the SGD gearbox has been delivered and fitted by a professional. This arrangement allows the garage to keep its schedule without waiting for a prior collection and return. However, return of the old unit remains required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Warranty and payment

This gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, with up to 10 instalments available, to make your purchase more manageable.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: this electronic component is neither reconditioned nor tested and remains the vehicle's original unit; however, the dual-clutch assembly is included with the gearbox.
