This reconditioned gearbox is designed for the Audi A1 fitted with the 1.6 TDI engine (1598 cm³), compatible with engine codes CAYB and CAYC, and carries the reference QHG. It is the S tronic 7 dual-clutch gearbox fitted to this vehicle and provides a direct replacement for a faulty unit with a fully reconditioned part.

Signs that your S tronic gearbox needs replacing

On an A1 S tronic 7, several warning signs indicate advanced wear:

• juddering or jerking during gear changes, particularly at low speed;
• gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard;
• delayed or rough gear shifts, especially on a cold start;
• unusual noises, grinding or clunking while driving;
• gearbox stuck in limp mode or loss of gears.

A reconditioned gearbox – checked and ready to fit

The reconditioning of this gearbox follows a rigorous process: it is fully stripped, cleaned and inspected, then its internal wear parts – gears, synchros, bearings and seals – are replaced according to the condition found. It is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch. The dual-clutch assembly is included in this reconditioned gearbox, reference QHG.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: it is neither reconditioned nor tested, is not supplied or included in the sale, and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer.

Exchange basis – delivered before the old unit is returned

This reconditioned gearbox is sold on an exchange basis. It is delivered first, before the old unit is collected: the garage is therefore never left without a gearbox and the vehicle is off the road for as short a time as possible. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Reference QHG applies to Audi A1 1.6 TDI models fitted with engine codes CAYB and CAYC, with an engine capacity of 1598 cm³.

Warranty and payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
