This reconditioned DSG 7 gearbox is designed for the Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI (1598 cm³), compatible with engine codes CAYB, CAYC, CLHA and CRKB, and corresponds to reference PLD. On this model, the dual-clutch gearbox is put under particular strain in urban driving, which accounts for the gradual wear of certain internal components. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The gearbox is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

This reconditioned gearbox is dispatched before the old unit is collected: the PLD gearbox is sent out first, allowing the garage to carry on working without any wait. The old gearbox — casing and block intact — is only collected after the new gearbox has been delivered and fitted, so the vehicle is not left off the road. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
