This reconditioned DSG 6 gearbox is specifically designed for the Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI, compatible with BKP, CBAB, CFFB and CFGB engines of 1968 cm³, and supplied under reference SYW. The DSG 6 is a dual-clutch gearbox engineered to deliver rapid gear changes without any interruption in torque, making it a particularly popular unit on this model. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and careful inspection of every component, followed by replacement of all internal wear parts: gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch.

Signs that your DSG 6 gearbox needs replacing

On a Passat 2.0 TDI fitted with a DSG 6, several warning signs point to a worn gearbox: pronounced juddering when shifting from first to second, slipping under acceleration, the DSG warning light illuminating on the dashboard, shuddering when cold, vibrations at idle, metallic noise whilst driving, or the gearbox entering limp mode and limiting the available gears. These symptoms warrant prompt investigation before the fault worsens and causes damage to other transmission components.

Exchange basis: immediate dispatch, deferred return

This reconditioned gearbox is sold on an exchange basis: it is dispatched immediately, without waiting for the old gearbox to be returned first. This means the garage is never left without a part and the vehicle is off the road for as little time as possible. The old gearbox – casing or block intact – is only collected after the reconditioned unit (reference SYW) has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: the vehicle's original mechatronic unit is retained, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and must be reused by the customer. The dual-clutch assembly is, however, included in the sale.

Warranty and payment
