Which reconditioned gearbox fits more than 30 different models, from the 1.0 to the 2.5 dCi?

The answer depends above all on the model, the year and the engine code: the same engine family such as the 2.0 TDI or the 1.6 TDI can take completely different gearboxes depending on the generation of the vehicle. This page brings together all the reconditioned gearboxes available on an exchange basis, covering more than 30 models — from the Golf to the Ducato, from the Transit to the Kangoo — across model years ranging from 1981 to 2026.

Manual, dual-clutch, automated manual: three families with very different characteristics

5- and 6-speed manual gearboxes make up the bulk of the catalogue, but the range of types listed here goes much further: DSG 6 and DSG 7, S tronic 6 and S tronic 7, DDCT on the wet or dry dual-clutch side; Dualogic, Easytronic, SensoDrive, BMP6, ETG6, Quickshift, Tecshift, 2-Tronic on the automated manual side. These two families operate on different principles when it comes to supply: dual-clutch gearboxes are supplied without the mechatronic unit but include a new dual clutch; automated manual gearboxes are delivered without the robot actuator.

Manual gearboxes do not require these precautions, but they come with their own pitfalls: the same engine block such as the K9K (K9K 700, 704, 800, 802, 808, 872…) or the M9T (M9T 670, 680, 700, 702, 706, 710, 716…) can be paired with several different gear ratios depending on whether the vehicle is a van or a passenger car, the model year and the market. The engine code stamped on the block remains the only reliable criterion for avoiding a reference error.

How to navigate this catalogue to find the right page

The model-specific page is the essential next step: each listing shows the compatible engine codes and the years covered. Light commercial vehicles (Master, Trafic, Movano, Transit, Transporter, Ducato, Jumper, Boxer) often have different gearboxes from their passenger car equivalents with the same engine capacity, owing to different axle ratios and torque requirements. For petrol engines in 1.0, 1.2 or 1.4 TSI form fitted to the Polo, Ibiza, A1 or Fiesta, the generation matters just as much as the engine capacity: two Polo 1.2s from different years may take gearboxes with no interchangeable parts whatsoever.

Two sales methods coexist in this catalogue: the exchange basis and reconditioning of your own unit, where your own gearbox is reconditioned and returned to you. This distinction is specified on each product page.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is an exchange gearbox?

It is an original gearbox fully rebuilt in our workshop: wear parts replaced, settings redone and bench-tested before dispatch. You get a reliable gearbox for far less than a new one, and you send us back your old unit (the core), which we recondition in turn — a genuine circular economy approach.

What warranty comes with a reconditioned gearbox?

Every part is guaranteed for up to 24 months on the part, subject to conditions. Our gearboxes are bench-tested before dispatch, and every order comes with an invoice (VAT reclaimable for trade customers).

How do I find the right gearbox for my vehicle?

The easiest way: enter your number plate and we identify the exact model in seconds. You can also request an online quote — our advisers check compatibility using your registration document or the original part reference.

What are the delivery and payment terms?

Delivery throughout France and Europe, with return transport arranged for the exchange of the part. You can pay in instalments, up to 10 payments, to spread the cost.
