On the N20B20 engine, turbo failure is often caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter or a damaged intercooler. Driving too hard immediately after a cold start also accelerates wear. Before fitting, check the condition of the oil circuit, hoses and air intake to avoid any contamination of the new turbo. When starting up for the first time, prime the oil system to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings.
