This reconditioned BMP6 gearbox for the Citroën C4 1.6 HDi, fitted with a 1560 cm³ diesel engine, is supplied under reference 20DS12. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component, replacement of all internal wear parts — including gears, synchros, bearings and seals — followed by reassembly to manufacturer tolerances and a bench test.

This gearbox is sold without the actuator unit: this electronic component is neither reconditioned nor tested as part of this sale. The original unit from the vehicle must be reused by the customer when fitting reference 20DS12.

Signs that your BMP6 automated gearbox needs replacing

On a C4 1.6 HDi equipped with the BMP6, several warning signs should not be ignored: pronounced juddering during gear changes, abnormally slow shifts between ratios, the clutch slipping for no apparent reason, the gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard, the gearbox dropping into neutral on its own whilst driving, or metallic noises under acceleration. These symptoms typically indicate internal wear of the gears or synchros and warrant a replacement.

Exchange basis: your garage is never out of action

Under this exchange arrangement, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, before the old unit is collected. Your workshop is therefore never stood idle and the vehicle can be returned to the road without delay. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted; its return is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Parts warranty and payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, valid subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment for reference 20DS12 can be spread over multiple instalments — pay in up to 10 instalments.
