The reconditioned S tronic 7 gearbox for the Audi A1 1.6 TDI, compatible with CAYB and CAYC engines of 1598 cm³, is available under reference PWF. This dual-clutch gearbox is fitted to a large number of diesel A1 models, and replacement becomes necessary when the following symptoms appear.

Signs that the S tronic 7 gearbox needs replacing

• Jerking or shuddering during gear changes, particularly when cold
• Slipping or juddering felt under acceleration
• Gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard
• Gearbox stuck in limp-home mode, unable to select beyond a few gears
• Metallic noise or unusual vibrations whilst driving
• Loss of drive or clutch no longer responding correctly

Exchange basis: your reconditioned gearbox delivered before the old unit is returned

This gearbox is reconditioned to a comprehensive standard: it is fully stripped, cleaned and inspected, then its gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced wherever wear justifies it. It is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch. The dual-clutch assembly is supplied new with this gearbox under reference PWF. Please note, however, that this gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: this electronic component is neither reconditioned nor tested and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be refitted by the customer during installation.

Under the exchange basis, the reconditioned gearbox is dispatched first, before the old unit is collected. The garage is therefore never left without a part and the vehicle is not off the road unnecessarily. The old gearbox — casing and block intact — is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Compatibility

This S tronic 7 gearbox, reference PWF, is compatible with Audi A1 models fitted with 1.6 TDI engines with engine codes CAYB and CAYC, with an engine capacity of 1598 cm³.

Warranty and payment

This reconditioned gearbox comes with a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, with up to 10 instalments available.
