What changes when you drive your Ford Transit with a healthy turbo
On a Ford Transit 2.0 Di or 2.0 TDCi, a properly functioning turbocharger makes itself felt immediately: throttle response is sharper from low revs, the engine no longer struggles under load, and exhaust smoke returns to normal. By contrast, a worn turbo shows itself through a noticeable loss of power, an unusual whistling noise, or excessive oil consumption — all signs that, on a van that is often running at capacity, directly affect day-to-day use of the vehicle.
Compatibility of the new turbo for Ford Transit
This new turbo is listed under the main reference 802419-5004S and is compatible with Ford Transit 2.0 Di 86 CV and 2.0 TDCi 100 CV diesel engines, 1998 cm³, associated with engine codes ABFA and F3FA. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference printed on your old turbo as well as the engine code shown on the identification plate, in order to confirm exact compatibility with your Ford Transit.
Exchange basis and warranty for this Ford Transit turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted to your Ford Transit, so the vehicle is not left off the road during the process. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and during fitting on the Ford Transit
On these 2.0 Di/TDCi engines, turbo failure is often caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or neglected oil changes, a clogged air filter, or a leak on the intercooler or its hoses. Before fitting the new turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, ensure the hoses are clean, and confirm there are no air leaks. When starting the vehicle back up, the turbo must be primed with oil before the first engine start, to ensure the bearings are lubricated immediately.
