The Mercedes Classe B (W245) fitted with the 180 CDI 109 ch engine is frequently used for mixed driving — town and road alike — sometimes with a full load on board (family, luggage) that places heavy demands on the forced induction system. This regular use, particularly on repeated short journeys or in stop-start urban traffic, leads to gradual turbo fouling and accelerates bearing wear if servicing is not kept up to scratch. A new turbo restores factory performance without the uncertainty that comes with a used part.
Compatibility with the Classe B 180 CDI 109 ch
This new turbo is compatible with reference VV16, intended for the 180 CDI 109 ch engine in the Classe B (W245), fitted with diesel blocks identified by engine codes OM 640.940 and OM 640.942, with an engine capacity of 1991 cm3. Before placing an order, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference marked on your old turbo or on the engine plate to ensure perfect compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty for this Classe B turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted to your Classe B, so that your vehicle is not left off the road. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a professional. Payment for your order can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting on the OM 640 engine
On the OM 640 engine in the Classe B, the majority of turbo failures stem from insufficient lubrication caused by poor-quality oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter or intercooler. Before fitting, carefully check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake to avoid contaminating the new turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, prime the oil supply to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings, and drive gently for the first few kilometres to maximise the longevity of the assembly.
