A new turbo built for the demanding workload of the Sprinter
The Mercedes Sprinter is first and foremost a working vehicle: urban deliveries with constant stop-start driving, long heavily loaded motorway runs, occasional towing, or use as a site vehicle. This kind of duty cycle – with prolonged idling alternating with rapid turbo boost build-up – puts the forced-induction system under considerable strain. On the Sprinter fitted with the 2.2 CDI engine, these repeated stresses gradually weaken the turbo bearings and actuator, which is why having a reliable new turbo is essential for getting back to work without compromise.
Compatibility with Sprinter 2.2 CDI engines
This new turbo is compatible with reference 759688-5007S, fitted to Mercedes Sprinter models equipped with the 2.2 CDI 109 ch and 2.2 CDI 150 ch engines, identified under engine codes OM 646.985 and OM 646 DE22LA, with an engine capacity of 2148 cm3. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference stamped on the body of the old turbo or on the vehicle's engine plate, as certain power variants of the Sprinter may use different turbos depending on the version and specification.
Exchange turbo and warranty for your Sprinter
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so that your Sprinter remains operational for as long as possible. The part comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before fitting on a Sprinter 2.2 CDI
Before installing the new turbo, check that the oil circuit is clean and leak-free, inspect the condition of the hoses and air intake, and ensure the intercooler and air filter are clean – contamination or insufficient lubrication are among the most common causes of turbo failure on this type of diesel commercial engine. Use the recommended oil grade and adhere to the correct service intervals, particularly on a vehicle used for intensive professional work. When starting up, prime the turbo with oil before the first engine start, then avoid any hard driving during the first few kilometres to protect the new part.
