Not sure you've found the right part?
Identifying the right turbo for your Nissan X-Trail
Before placing any order, the first step is to check the reference printed on the label of your original turbo, either directly on the vehicle or on the old unit once removed. This check is essential, as several turbos may have been fitted to the X-Trail range depending on the engine and vehicle variant. This new turbo is listed as compatible with the main reference 773087-5003S, as well as all equivalent references listed on this page.
Compatible engines on the X-Trail
This new turbo is compatible with Nissan X-Trail models fitted with the M9R diesel engine, with an engine capacity of 1995 cm³, in its 2.0 dCi 150 hp and 2.0 dCi 173 hp versions. These engines are widely used in this SUV, whether for urban driving or light off-road use, and place considerable demands on the turbocharger — particularly when leaving motorways or driving under load (towing a trailer or carrying a full load). We recommend confirming compatibility by comparing the reference on your old turbo with those listed on this page before completing your order.
Exchange basis and warranty for this new turbo
This new turbo for the X-Trail 2.0 dCi is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your vehicle is not left off the road during the work. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting
On M9R engines, premature turbo failure is most commonly caused by a lubrication fault — whether due to incorrect oil, oil that has not been changed in line with manufacturer recommendations, or a clogged air filter that allows abrasive particles to be ingested. A leak at the intercooler or boost hoses, as well as driving too aggressively before the oil has reached operating temperature, will also accelerate wear. Before fitting the new turbo, always check the oil circuit (feed and return lines), the condition of the intake hoses, and the cleanliness of the air intake. When starting the engine for the first time, make sure to prime the turbo's oil circuit before the initial start-up, to ensure the bearings are lubricated immediately and to protect the service life of the part.
