A new turbo designed for everyday use in your SEAT Altea 1.9 TDI

The SEAT Altea is a compact MPV often used for mixed driving – short urban journeys as well as longer runs on A-roads and motorways, sometimes with several passengers or a loaded boot. This kind of use puts considerable strain on the turbocharger, particularly during repeated acceleration in town followed by higher revs on faster roads. This new turbo is compatible with reference 751851-5004S and is designed to restore factory-level performance on this model.

Compatibility with the Altea's 1.9 TDI engines

This new turbo is compatible with reference 751851-5004S, fitted to the SEAT Altea with the 1.9 TDI 105 CV and 1.9 TDI 90 CV engines, associated with engine codes BJB, BKC, BXE and BXF. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference stamped on your old turbo as well as the engine code on the block, to confirm exact compatibility with your vehicle.

Exchange and warranty for your Altea

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your SEAT Altea is never left off the road unnecessarily. The new turbo is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Common causes of turbo failure on the Altea's 1.9 TDI

On these diesel engines, premature turbo failure is often caused by insufficient lubrication due to poor-quality oil or missed oil changes, a clogged air filter, or a leak in the intercooler or intake hoses. Pushing the engine hard without allowing it to warm up, or switching the engine off immediately after a sustained run, also causes premature wear to the turbocharger.

Points to check before fitting on your Altea

Before installing the new turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, the cleanliness of the intake and exhaust hoses, and the air intake to avoid any contamination from residue left by the old turbo. When starting the engine for the first time, pre-lubricating the turbo with oil is essential to ensure the bearings are immediately lubricated before the engine is revved for the first time.
