A new turbo designed for real-world use on the Toyota Corolla 2.2 D-4D
The Toyota Corolla fitted with the 2.2 D-4D / D-CAT 177 hp engine was frequently used for long A-road and motorway journeys, sometimes in demanding professional use with a loaded boot. This type of driving — combining frequent acceleration and sustained boost pressure — puts the turbocharger under considerable strain, particularly when oil circuit maintenance has not been carried out diligently. A new turbo compatible with reference VB13 restores reliable performance on this model without any compromise on quality.
Compatibility with Corolla 2.2 D-4D engines
This new turbo is compatible with Toyota Corolla vehicles fitted with the 2.2 D-4D / D-CAT 177 hp diesel engine, engine code 2AD-FHV, with an engine capacity of 2231 cm³. Before placing an order, it is essential to check the reference number on the old turbo to ensure perfect compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted to the Corolla, so that the vehicle is off the road for as short a time as possible. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting on a Corolla 2.2 D-4D
On this 2AD-FHV engine, premature turbo failure is frequently caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality engine oil or neglected oil changes, a clogged air filter, or a leaking intercooler. Before fitting the new turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, hoses and air intake to avoid any contamination or leaks. On first start-up, priming the turbo with oil is recommended to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and to maximise the service life of the part.
- Check the cleanliness and pressure of the oil circuit before fitting
- Inspect hoses and the air intake for leaks or cracks
- Drive gently after installation, avoiding sudden high-rev acceleration
