A new turbo built for the Toyota Hilux
The Toyota Hilux is a utility pick-up regularly called upon for heavy loads, towing, professional journeys and off-road use. This kind of demanding work subjects the turbocharger to repeated pressure cycles, often under high load and sometimes on dusty tracks. These repeated stresses accelerate turbo wear if maintenance is not kept up to scratch — particularly lubrication and air filtration. This new turbo is designed to restore reliable performance on this vehicle, especially for drivers who regularly run under load or tow.
Compatibility with the Hilux 2.5 D-4D engine
This new turbo is compatible with reference 9B014, intended for the Toyota Hilux fitted with the 2.5 D-4D diesel engine, engine code 2KD-FTV, with an engine capacity of 2494 cm3. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference shown on the identification plate of your old turbo to confirm exact compatibility with your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty on this turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: your old turbo must be returned to us in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. The return is only required after delivery and fitting of the new turbo, so your Hilux is not left off the road. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment for your order can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting
On the 2KD-FTV, most turbo failures are caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter allowing abrasive particles to reach the compressor wheel. A blocked or cracked intercooler can also disrupt turbo operation and cause abnormal boost pressure. Before fitting, it is recommended to check the condition of the oil circuit, the cleanliness of the hoses and air intake, and to ensure there are no leaks or blockages in the pipework. When starting up, priming the turbo with oil before the first start helps reduce the risk of dry running.
