Restore your BMW Série 3 to its full performance with a new turbo
On a BMW Série 3 320i or 330i, a turbo in good condition makes itself felt immediately behind the wheel: throttle response becomes crisp again, the engine reacts without any lag, and the car regains the sporty driving character that defines this saloon. Conversely, a worn turbo shows itself through a gradual loss of power, an unusual whistling noise or exhaust smoke – all telltale signs that the turbocharger is failing.
Turbo compatibility for the BMW Série 3
This new turbo is compatible with reference 49477-02404, fitted to BMW Série 3 320i and 330i models equipped with the 1998 cm³ petrol engines with engine codes B48 B20 A and B48 B20 B. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference on the label of your old turbo to confirm it is a perfect match for your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your BMW Série 3 is never left off the road. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and during fitting
On B48 engines, most premature turbo failures stem from inadequate lubrication: poor-quality oil, missed oil changes, or a clogged air filter allowing contaminants to reach the turbine. Before fitting the new turbo, check the condition of the oil circuit, hoses and air intake, as well as the intercooler, to rule out any potential cause of failure. When starting the engine for the first time, carry out an oil priming procedure so the turbo is properly lubricated from the very first revs, then drive gently for a while to maximise its longevity.
