This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required, though it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your vehicle is never left off the road. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, provided fitting is carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Fitting and maintenance advice for the B48 engine
On the B48 engines fitted to BMW Série 1 models, premature turbo failure is most commonly caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality engine oil or missed oil changes, as well as a clogged air filter allowing particles to enter the compressor. Before fitting the new turbo, it is recommended to check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the air intake, then to prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings.
