Not sure you've found the right part?
The new turbo designed for the Subaru Outback 2.5 XT
The Subaru Outback 2.5 XT is a versatile family estate, often used for long-distance journeys, towing or driving on demanding roads, thanks to its all-wheel drive system. This kind of use puts considerable strain on the turbocharger, which must deliver consistent boost pressure even under load or during repeated hill climbs. A worn or poorly lubricated turbo quickly makes itself known through a loss of power, exhaust smoke or an unusual whistling noise — all common symptoms on this model after high mileage.
Compatibility with the Outback's EJ255 engine
This new turbo is compatible with the VF52 reference, fitted to the Subaru Outback equipped with the 2.5-litre petrol EJ255 engine. Before placing an order, it is recommended that you check the reference marked on the old turbo or on the engine plate, as certain engine variants may take different turbos depending on the trim level or market.
Exchange and warranty
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of the old turbo is required, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your vehicle is never left off the road unnecessarily. The part is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional.
Advice before and after fitting
On the Outback's EJ255, turbo longevity depends greatly on the quality and frequency of oil changes, a clean air filter and an intercooler in good condition — all of which help limit premature wear on the turbine assembly. Before installation, it is advisable to check the condition of the intake hoses, the cleanliness of the oil circuit and that the air intake is free from blockages. On first start-up, priming the turbo with oil prevents it from running dry at start-up, protecting the bearings of the new component.
Payment to suit your budget
Payment for this new turbo for the Subaru Outback can be spread over several instalments — pay in up to 10 instalments — to help you manage your budget with ease.
